The Wong Foundation was legally established in 1993 as a non-profit organization (Ministry of Social Welfare of Ecuador, Resolution 0260, published in the Official Gazzete No. 176 of April 29th) in order to carry on the social programs of the Wong Business Group. Most of its activities are oriented to improve the quality of the basic rural education in the areas where the Group concentrates its agricultural production units, in particular its banana plantations.
